    Mahamba Wild Africa Explorer Village

Mahamba Wild Africa Explorer Village is the main center of our project's activities. It is located in south-western Uganda Kabale. The village overlooks Lake Bunyonyi and the Volcanic Virunga Mountains, known for their enchanting views. The facility will have a museum and a wildlife and tourist information center.

The facility will offer accommodation for our volunteers and travellers in self-contained African Cottages, wooden cabins, safari platform tents and camping space. The wonderful centralized outdoor sitting terrace with a bar and a restaurant for socializing and relaxation offers an excellent view of the lake and the Mufumbiro Volcanic Ranges.

Our lake side birding center has over 100 bird species and is home to the Crested Crane and 2 species of King Fishers. Our tourist activities around Lake Bunyonyi are all community based and promote nature conservation in the main Albertine Rift Valley.

Many tourists and travellers, both local and international, visit Lake Bunyonyi and the surrounding areas, for safaris and game viewing in the Great Rift Valley gorge, gorilla tracking and other leisure and holiday activities.

Mahamba Wild Africa Explorer Village will become a tourist destination in itself, when the construction is fully done.

    Be more than a tourist

Volunteering with Mahamba Wild Africa gives you the opportunity to travel within the country in different local communities, to gain a better understanding of the local cultures, their way of living and the surrounding environment, to develop a truly intercultural understanding, to make friends and to give something back to the communities.

Our Travel programmes are all based on Mahamba Wild Africa travel guide book, that will be out soon.

The publication is for promoting culture and community tourism.

Our main goal is to involve tourism to benefit communities and contribute more on the conservation process, by giving value to the culture and the wildlife outside the protected Game Reserves and National Parks.
